Red Bird Mission School
Red Bird Mission School serves 265 students in grades K-12 and
centers on developing the full potential of its students in a
Christian atmosphere. The school is operated independently by
the Mission and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools and the University Senate of the United Methodist
Church. Red Bird Mission School provides quality education to
students of the Red Bird area regardless of their ability to pay.
Enrichment classes in physical education, foreign language, music,
art, and libraries are available to all students. Christian education
is incorporated in the curriculum for all grades. Students may
graduate from the School with a general, college preparatory or
academic diploma. Many extracurricular activities are available
to enhance each student’s school experience in the area
of academics, fine arts, and athletics.

Early Childhood Development
This educational program serves three and four
year olds in a Christian setting. A class of four year-olds meets
three mornings a week. Three year-old’s attend a 2-hour
class once a week at one of four ECD centers. These sessions are
led by a trained teacher and home visitor. Each child has two
home visits a month.
Residential Dormitory Program
Two dormitories provide a residential program
for high school students. These students are accepted into a Christian
community that seeks to help them grow educationally, spiritually and socially. Dormitory students are primarily from
the local Appalachian area and stay in the dorms from Sunday night
through Friday.

Recently, Red Bird Mission School sent out a plea for help. It was answered by many people. The community and friends
of the Mission have joined together to keep the school doors open. The school is currently in good financial standing and will continue to operate as usual. So, thanks to everyone that helped save our school!!
