COMMUNITY STORE SEEKS DONATIONS

01/26/2007- The Red Bird Community Store has been serving the area with second hand clothing in various ways for over 80 years. As the service and store have grown, there has been an increase in clothing need. With over 1000 families receiving special clothing assistance and the rest of the community purchasing low priced clothing, it is providing for quite a need.

As the gas prices and expenses have gone up, there has been a reduction in the amount of clothing that we have received. In the last twenty years because of the wonderful level of giving, there has never been a need to request additional clothing. In the last two years the reduction has been substantial and two of our regular donor sources have cut back the number of trips to the Mission by 80 %.

We are in great need of your support in this area. Please send us the clothes and item you do not need to Red Bird Mission, Community Store, 70 Queendale Center, Beverly, Ky, 40913. If you would like to bring the donations to us, call (606) 598. 3155 so that we might greet you, show you around, and even give you a tour. We would love for you to become part of our ministry here in the mountains of Southeast Kentucky.
