Red Bird Mission is located in the southeast corner of Clay County, Kentucky on State Hwy 66 about 26 miles north of Pineville and about 33 miles southeast of Manchester. The nearest commercial airports are in Lexington, KY and Knoxville, TN.  CAUTION:  Directions generated by Internet mapping programs frequently direct you the shortest route to the Mission but typically the hardest routes to drive.

Lexington, KY - Travel time approximately 2.5 hours

Take I-75 south to London, KY (exit 41). Turn left (east) on Hwy 80 and follow the signs for the Hal Rogers Parkway. Stay on the Parkway for approximately 34 miles to the second exit, Hwy 66. Turn left off the parkway and go to the end of the exit ramp then turn right (south) at the stop sign onto Hwy 66.  Watch for the green signs that direct you to Red Bird Mission.  Go .6 mile to another stop sign. Turn right and travel west on 421/80/66 for .8 mile, then turn left (heading toward Pineville) on Hwy 66 south. Travel approx 16 miles on Hwy 66 and you will pass the Red Bird Mission School on your right. Continue for .4 mile to the Mission campus at Queendale, on your right.

Louisville KY- Travel time approximately 4 hours

Take I-64 east to I-75 at Lexington. Take I-75 south to London, KY (exit 41). Turn left (east) on Hwy 80 and follow the signs for the Hal Rogers Parkway. Knoxville, TN- Travel time approximately 2.5 hours

Take I-75 north to Hwy 25W/63 (exit 134) at Caryville. Go north on Hwy 25W/63 to La Follette. At La Follette, take Hwy 63 and continue north to Hwy 25E at Harrogate. Turn left and head north on Hwy 25E through Harrogate, the Cumberland Gap tunnel, and Middlesboro, KY to Pineville, which is approximately 12 miles past Middlesboro. At Pineville, turn right and head north on Hwy 66.  Watch for the green signs that direct you to Red Bird Mission.  After about 18 miles you will come to a stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign and continue on Hwy 66 north for another 6.5 miles to the Mission campus at Queendale on your left.

Nashville, TN- Travel time approximately 4.5 hours

Take I-65 north to the Cumberland Parkway. Travel east on the Cumberland Parkway to Somerset, KY. Continue east on Hwy 80 to London, KY. Follow the signs for the Hal Rogers Parkway. Stay on the Parkway for approximately 34 miles to the second exit, Hwy 66. Turn left off the parkway and go to the end of the exit ramp then turn right (south) at the stop sign onto Hwy 66 and go .6 mile to another stop sign. Bristol, TN- Travel time approximately 3.5 hours

Exit I-81 (exit 74) on Hwy 11W. Head west toward Knoxville to junction of US 25E. Continue west on 25E/11W and travel approximately 3 miles to where 25E turns right toward Tazewell, TN & Middlesboro, KY. Turn right at the traffic light in Tazewell, and continue on 25E through Harrogate, the Cumberland Gap tunnel, and Middlesboro, KY to Pineville, which is approximately 12 miles past Middlesboro. At Pineville, turn right and head north on Hwy 66.  Watch for the green signs that direct you to Red Bird Mission.  After about 18 miles you will come to a stop sign. Asheville, NC- Travel time approximately 4 hours

Take I-40 west to I-81 north. Go approx 8 miles on I-81 to the US Hwy 25E exit at Morristown, TN. Travel north on 25E past Morristown to Bean Station. At Bean Station, turn left on 25E/11W and travel approximately 3 miles to where 25E turns right toward Tazewell, TN & Middlesboro, KY. Turn right at the traffic light in Tazewell, and continue on 25E through Harrogate, the Cumberland Gap tunnel, and Middlesboro, KY to Pineville, which is approximately 12 miles past Middlesboro. Take I-64 west to US 23 near Ashland, KY. Go south on US 23 through Paintsville and Prestonsburg to KY Hwy 80. Head west on Hwy 80 to the Hal Rogers Parkway, at Hazard. Continue west on the Parkway, approximately 30 miles to the 2nd exit (Hwy 66). Exit and proceed to the end of the exit ramp then turn right (south) at the stop sign onto Hwy 66.  Watch for the green signs that direct you to Red Bird Mission.  Go .6 mile to another stop sign. Turn right and travel west on 421/80/66 for .8 mile, then turn left (heading toward Pineville) on Hwy 66 south.
